Timmy’s First Latte!

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

I won’t file this under “More Reasons to Hate Starbucks,” but you can if you want. I also won’t file this under “The Death of Western Civilization,” though feel free do do so if you’re so inclined. Mostly I’ll just file it under “Surreal/WTF?”

At Starbucks, they sell cute little child size travel coffee mugs. Yep, adorable little Starbucks sippy cups with soccer balls, apples, rulers, pencils, and 1-2-3 A-B-C-A-F-F-E-I-N-E. Now little Timmy can start his day off with his very own venti double shot caramel macchiato, just like Daddy.

Yeah, I know that the travel mugs don’t have to be used for coffee, which most parents won’t let their kids drink anyway since it’s horrible for growing bones. Or parents just don’t want their offspring to behave like angry monkeys on crack. But looking at this, I can’t help but have thoughts of candy cigarettes sold to kids to imprint them with brand loyalty for the day they buy their first pack of Lucky Strikes . . .
